First Race of the year!

Great start off to the racing season with Jessica and Louise racing in the ACE race hosted by Alpine Creek Lodge. If you haven't visited Alpine creek lodge it is well worth the trip. The lodge situated on the Denali highway boasts dramatic scenery and spectacular accommodations. Not to mention the Bondy family who owns the lodge is great! Jessica placed 7th and Louise placed 17th. The whole team went up to the highway and ran with a guest appearance by Jeremiah who helped race the team with Louise since it was her first race. This race allows for the not so advantageous mushing of the team by two mushers to " add an element of fun" if desired. The race is 60+ miles to Alpine creek lodge where mushers can spent the night, eat great food and dictate their own layovers. The next morning is not a race and commonly the support crew takes turns riding with the dog team. Tailwind kennels crew for this race consisted of Sam, Anna, Robby and James.
